In the wake of two powerful hurricanes, Helene and Milton, Disaster Response has once again proven its commitment to emergency property restoration by sending its elite CAT (Catastrophe) Team to Florida. With a robust team of 16 highly skilled employees from Idaho and 200 team members hired from Florida to help, the company has been at the forefront of cleanup and rebuilding efforts in some of the hardest-hit areas of the state.
Disaster Response’s Rapid Mobilization
Since Hurricane Helene made landfall in late September 2024, Disaster Response quickly deployed its CAT Team to Florida. Team DR was among the first to arrive, assess the situation, and begin coordination for large-scale restoration efforts along with other CORE members, like Insurcomm and Regency Disaster Response Team. As a recognized leader in emergency restoration services, Disaster Response wasted no time in launching 36 active projects across key regions such as Siesta Key, Longboat Key, St. Pete Beach, St. Petersburg, and Eden Isle.
Cutting-Edge Equipment and Collaboration
Equipped with four 53-foot mobile branches and our specialized CAT Trailer, Disaster Response’s team has been hard at work providing essential repairs and mitigation to homes, condos, commercial properties, and high-rises. These mobile units allow the team to operate efficiently and respond swiftly to the widespread damage caused by the hurricanes. Partnering with local independent contractors, Disaster Response has extended its capacity to tackle the immense challenges of post-hurricane recovery.
Ensuring Local Support Remains Strong
While Disaster Response’s CAT Team is actively engaged in Florida, our local offices remain fully staffed and committed to supporting property loss restoration needs within our home communities. Our dedicated local teams continue to provide prompt and professional services, ensuring that residents and businesses in our local service areas still receive the highest level of care and attention. This seamless balance between mobilization for large-scale disasters and maintaining robust local operations underscores our unwavering dedication to all our clients, no matter where they are.
Navigating Hurricane Milton
As the team made significant progress with Hurricane Helene’s aftermath, Hurricane Milton threatened the area. Prioritizing safety, Disaster Response temporarily relocated our CAT Team while remaining prepared to resume work as soon as conditions improved. This flexibility highlights our dedication to ensuring that both our team and the local communities are well-protected while keeping restoration efforts moving forward.
A Legacy of Trust and Reliability
Disaster Response’s reputation for excellence in disaster recovery stems from its extensive experience and its unwavering commitment to helping communities rebuild after natural disasters. This is not the first time the CAT Team has responded to Florida’s needs—after Hurricane Ian in 2022, they provided vital recovery services, and their work continues with the same dedication today.
With boots on the ground, an array of advanced tools, and partnerships with local experts, Disaster Response is well-positioned to continue helping Florida residents and businesses recover from the devastation caused by both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.
