COVID-19: Our Internal Practices

COVID-19 Our Internal Practices

With COVID-19 (Coronavirus) spreading it’s not only important for us to be ready to help clean and sanitize areas for various organizations in the communities we serve, but also vital for us to have internal processes in place to maintain a safe working environment and give our customers peace of mind during this time. We are able and ready to help our communities with infection control and cleaning efforts, but to do so we must keep ourselves healthy and safe first. Here are some items in our action plan:

  1. Cleanliness and Hygiene – It’s important that if a team member is sick, they do not come to work. All our locations will be following this guideline and ensuring our employees entering customers’ homes are healthy and safe. We have put hygiene and cleanliness standards in place for our employees to follow. As it has been recommended by many agencies, our employees will also be given the opportunity to work from home and practice social distancing.
  2. Individual Safety Procedures – Disaster Response has put procedures in place for individual and personal safety measures as well. All employees will be following simple, but specific safety precautions every day. This includes proper hand washing techniques as recommended by the CDC. Employees have been instructed to follow these guidelines to ensure our safety internally and prevent the spread of germs in the communities we serve.
  3. Our Physical Environment – A variety of steps will be taken to ensure the health and safety of our environment. We are using advanced cleaning and disinfecting practices daily in our offices and warehouses. These practices will be implemented daily to ensure a clean and healthy work environment. Due to the nature of our work, some time is spent in shared company vehicles. We have added procedures for the proper cleaning and disinfecting of vehicles as well.
  4. Job Sites – We pride ourselves on our conduct in customers’ homes, which is why it’s important our employees are knowledgeable on taking health and safety precautions to the job site. We are exercising extra caution when touching items and surfaces within a customers’ home and taking extra sanitization steps. Our staff, when on a job site, will be wearing gloves if appropriate to do so for the task being completed.

Our biggest priority during the COVID-19 outbreak, and always, is the health and safety of our employees and our customers. We are here to help. It is important that our staff is knowledgeable about proper health and safety measures, and that we follow those set in place. We are prepared and more ready than ever to assist in preventing the spread of the virus in our communities, but we can’t do that without first practicing health and safety from within.
